How to Study English: Four Core English Skills

{“en”:”Hello, everyone. I’m Robin and welcome to this video. In this video I’m going to talk about the four language skills Whenever we study a language, there are four very important skills, we need to know and practice. So that’s what I’m going to talk about in this video. I’m going to talk about the four skills. And I’m going to teach you how to use these for skills to improve your English language ability. Ahh, this is an introduction video, so I’m not going to go into too much detail. But I still think it’s a very important video to help you improve your English.

So the four language skills. We also call them the Four Core English skills. ‘Core’ means center. Very important. Ok these are very important skills. And I.. I think you already know these skills. The first two: speaking and writing. Now speaking and writing… these are called productive skills or output. Ok, so you have an idea or some information… and you want to give that to another person. You have to create language. Okay. You have to create English. So you’re speaking in English. Or you’re writing a letter or an email. We have to create and give that information to someone.

So we call that productive skills. The last two: listening and reading. We call these receptive skills or input. Ok. So you’re listening to someone speak English And you have to understand. Or you’re reading a book or newspaper article and you have to understand what the information is. These are the four skills. They’re called skills because with practice, we can get better. And I’m going to show you how to practice using these four skills. Now I’m going to teach you how to use the Integrated Skills Approach. ‘Approach’ means it’s a method. Ok.

And it’s a good method. ‘Skills’ – we’re talking about the four skills. And the keyword ‘integrated’ – now what this means is we’re taking the four skills – And when we study English, we’re studying all four skills together at the same time. Alright, let me explain more. So you should study a topic – practicing all four core English skills. Let me give an example of a classroom. Now a good teacher will want to use the Integrated Skills Approach. So the teacher will bring the class a topic… So let’s say the topic today is Canadian culture. So what the teacher will want to do is practice the receptive skills. So, the students might read about Canadian culture. They might watch a video and practice there listening about Canadian culture.

So they’re receiving information in English. And then the teacher will want to practice the productive skills. So, here she will ask the students to write about Canadian culture. …what they thought about Canadian culture… And…they… the teacher will also ask the students to practice speaking about Canadian culture with… with the teacher or with a classmate. So in this class, a good teacher was able to pick a topic – one topic. And practice all four core English skills This is a really good class. This is a really good way to study English. Why? Well with the receptive…ah… practicing the receptive skills, You might learn some new English expressions or vocabulary. And then when you’re we’re practicing the productive skills, you’re able to practice writing these new expressions…. and you practice speaking these new expressions… Alright this will really really help you improve your English. Ahh… so in the class, a good teacher will do this.

Let’s talk about self study – outside the class. How can you do this? Well it’s not easy… ok… you know that. So, the…ah… receptive skills: the reading and listening – That’s easy. You’re practicing your receptive skills now. You’re listening to me. You can watch videos…uh…or listen to the radio. And reading – you can read articles and books. So you can practice that alone. But the productive skills…uh…Writing… Uh…a lot of my students don’t practice that, but you should. Alright. Now you can keep a diary. Whatever you watch, you can make some comments in your diary or about your day. You’re writing. You’re practicing. Uhh…and for speaking… well… you need a partner. Ok. You need a partner to practice speaking. That’s not easy. I know. But you really need to find a club or a friend you can practice speaking English about some topics. Ok? Now I’m going to help you a little bit. Uh…I’m going to talk about Voice of America Now… and this website. Now this is a really good website to practice your…uh…listening and reading. Ok. If you go to this website, they have different levels.

So if you’re a beginner, intermediate, advanced – they have different videos… and different articles. So this will really help you to find your level and practice your listening – when you’re watching a video. And you’re reading. Alright. Right now I’m going to show you how to access this site and use this site. Let’s take a look. First open your browser. Search for Voice of America. You can see their English learning site here. Ok this is the main page. You can see up here many things to explore. They have English lessons. And three levels of news articles. Let’s click level 1. And the first article. You can practice listening with the audio. And it matches the article below. Let’s check level 3. Again, you can play the audio to practice listening. Or read the article first, and listen later. Let’s click the video. They have some good videos for studying English. And they have audio broadcasts, too. Voice of America. A great website to help you improve your English.

Alright there’s one more thing I want to talk about. That is Balanced the Skills. Now we have the four skills here. And one problem I see with my students is they are focusing or they’re st…or they’re practicing only one or two of these skills. And they’re not…they’re ignoring… they’re not practicing other skills So for example: speaking. A lot of my students they’re only practicing speaking… but they’re not practicing writing. Alright. Don’t do this. If you are studying English, you have to practice all of these. Ok. And if possible, integrate it at the same time …about a topic. This will really help you improve your English. Uh, another example…uh.. some of my students….

they…they’re only worried about taking a test. Like TOEFL or TOEIC or IELTS. Uh…so they’re more focused on listening and reading or maybe writing. And they don’t spend any time on speaking. Alright? Oh this is terrible too. Again to really improve your English… balance the skills. Study them all, alright? Now I hope this video helped you. See you next time! If you enjoyed my video – like the video. Or subscribe to my channel. Or write a comment below. Uh…I really want to hear what you thought of my video. Ok. Thank you.. “}

№11 How I study English

{“en”:”Welcome to Series English! Today I won’t teach you any vocabulary or grammar, I’m just going to tell you my story – how I have been studying English. So let’s start from the very beginning, I studied English at school. I started learning it when I was in the fifth grade. However as long as I am from a teeny-tiny town, you can guess that the teaching was not actually very good, to put it mildly, and I didn’t get profound knowledge of English.

However when I turned 13 or 14 my father decided to study English, and he got me and my sister involved. He did a really good job and he is a very good disciplinarian. So that’s why we studied English for like… We had been studying English for three to four hours a day! Can you imagine that? Well, yeah, that’s true. And, well, as long as you think that learning a foreign language is a piece of cake, well, it’s not actually. If you want to do it very quickly and you want to become a fluent speaker then you have to work really hard. So during our lessons, I guess, we did almost everything! We started from picking up some basic vocabulary and learning the pronunciation.

Of course it was funny, since we tried to pronounce these words and letters, I mean sound over and over again. And we sounded a little bit silly, I guess, but still. In addition we studied grammar of course. Unfortunately now I can’t recover the title, but if I find it, I will give you the title. So, what else?.. Of course we read a lot and we also listened to different tapes. For that purpose we listened ‘The voice of America’ podcasts, we read them, we listened to them, it was very useful! In addition to that we used… we read different fiction books like Harry Potter, yeah, I read all seven books in original, it was really enjoyable and useful I guess. Also we used video material, at first we watched the video course called ‘Follow me’. Maybe you have heard of it, it is a very interesting, funny course. And in addition to that we also watched different films, like ‘Pretty Woman’ and ‘Six days and seven nights’.

We watched ‘Shrek’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland’, However we didn’t just watch these films. Of course, at the beginning we watched them for a couple of times to remember the chain of events but after that my father would create mp3 files and we would listen to these parts of the film over and over again. And we would read and translate the script, we would learn and pick up some new vocabulary. It was really interesting and useful. So we studied really hard, and that is the reason why when I finished school I realized, that I want to make linguistics my profession. I want to choose it as my profession and so I did. However I had to pull up treas in order to enter the university, and… however in the end I managed to do that. And well I studied there. At the university we also studied different aspects, However my profession is not only a linguist, but also a translator and an interpreter. So that’s why we practiced translating and interpreting a lot. But it’s also quite useful for language studies. In addition to that we did a lot of listening. We listened to BBC and translated it.

Orally, that was… we interpreted it. It was a tough assignment at first, but then we got used to it. We read a lot of texts, analyzed them, translated them. We did a lot of good stuff, which was really useful. So and I got a lot from my university, of course. And I guess that starting from the third year I started watching TV series and films in English. My first TV series was ‘Scrubs’, and to tell you the truth it was quite hard at the very beginning. I couldn’t understand a lot. However when I kept doing that I realized that it’s getting more and more understandable for me. It’s getting easier and I enjoyed the process. As you can guess I’m crazy about series, and that is actually a very good way to study a foreign language. And I should also add that, well, they say, that teaching is also a way of learning a foreign language. So as long as I teach English I practice it all the time and revise a lot of grammatical topics and issues.

And well this is also studying. OK, I guess that’s it, by the way, speaking about the university, I graduated from it with flying colours, so all excellent marks. However it’s not so important nowadays. I got some perks of course, but this video is not about that. Well actually I’m going to tell you a little bit more about the learning process. And I’m going to devote two more videos… The first one is going to be devoted to beginner and elementary, and the second is going to be devoted to intermediate and higher.

So that I could give you some pieces of advice, because here I didn’t give you anything, I just told you about my experience. And of course, there were some drawbacks, there were some advantages. However now I’m able to analyze this process, and understand what was not right, what was good. And that’s why I’m ready to give you my tips. So don’t forget to follow me, subscribe to my YouTube channel. And watch my other videos. Keep up, ask questions, as usual. I really enjoy answering… I feel really confident when I get your feedback.

So don’t forget to give me your heart as well – like my videos. And hope to see you soon! Happy English practice! Bye-bye!. “}

HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH FLUENTLY AND CONFIDENTLY Motivational video by Sandeep Maheshwari FAN

{“en”:”As you have chosen to watch this video, that means you can understand English. But the problem is fluency. When it comes to speak in English in front of someone we become conscious, a little bit scared. So here the lack of confidence is our main problem. There can be many solutions in supervision level, that you learn more about the grammar or join some coaching institution, they will teach you that are noun, this is adjective and finally the things will become more complicated for you. So, that is not a permanent a solution, let us find the root. Have you ever noticed, whenever you speak in your mother tongue, you think also in your mother tongue. But in case of speak in English, first we think in our mother tongue, then we translate it into English and then we speak up. That is the problem. Every time first we translate our thinking into English and then we speak up, that kills the fluency. We have some words in our mother tongue associated with every actions or things, we have English words also, but our habit is to think in our mother tongue.

If we can change our habit to think in English, then we can easily escape the translation phase. So, the main key here is our habit. Try to remember how you had learnt your mother tongue, and if you can apply those same techniques here also, you can easily learn English. If you observe deeply there were two steps in learning our mother tongue. The first step was observation and the next was practice. Now, let us come to the first step that is observation. Every child is a very deep observer. As they have nothing to do, they just keep seeing things very carefully around them, and then they try to copy others.

A child watches his parents to fight with each other, he learns to show anger, and basically whatever they see they try to do. They fail, they practice, again they fail, and this way slowly the communication becomes fluent. Now how can you observe someone speaking in English, because there is no one around whose primary language is English. Here comes the benefit of internet & television. You need to watch something related to daily life in English. Maybe you can watch English movies with subtitle or maybe you can watch some TV series in English like friends or maybe game of thrones. The main idea is to observe. This way more English words will get associated in your mind with every action & emotion. The next step is practice. This one is more bigger problem. How can we practice? Our friends will make fun of us if we try practice with them, family members can’t speak English properly.

So where & how can we practice? One way is you can write a daily journal. To write first you have to think in English, so this can help you a lot. And after few years when you will look back to those dairies it will also become an entertaining thing for you. Another way is you can practice by talking to yourself in your mind in English. As you know the main problem is our habit to think all the time in our mother tongue. Suppose you are thinking about something sitting on your study table, your current habit is to think it in your mother tongue, just change it, instead of that try to think it in English. Thoughts are actual sayings. The things you keep on saying to yourself the whole day are more important than what you speak to someone else. So at first try to speak in English with yourself, you can even mix English with your mother tongue at first, here you have full control, the best thing is in this way you need no one to practice, then gradually you will see, the way you are thinking, that way you will start talking, automatically English words will come out from your mouth, if you want you can do it easily.

If you don’t practice to think in English at first, and try to speak directly with someone else, for sure you will fumble, and they will make fun of you and as a result finally you will give-up. So don’t try to escape this step, if you really want to speak English fluently with confidence. Another way is, we can call the customer care, you just need to create an imaginary problem related to that product, then feel it and call up, try to make them understand what you are trying to express. The job of your friend is to point out your mistakes, but their job is to understand you, so I think that’s a great idea. Another great way can be finding the solution of the biggest problem of your life by thinking in English. Suppose there is a mother who is saying “oh Iufffdm very tired today. I canufffdt move today that much”, but the moment her child is in danger, the mother releases her all energy to protect her child. Whenever there is a problem that is huge, the mind releases its energy to find out a solution, & mind has the power to do anything & everything.

So, try to find out the solution of the biggest problem in your life in English, then you will be so busy & so occupied that you will not be concerned about whether you are right or wrong. That will take care of this problem of your learning English, so you will don’t need any effort, you will learn English automatically. Now let us discuss about what are the real problems in case of practicing.

I think the biggest problem is the fear, “oh they will make fun of me” You see, my English is also not that good, if you check out my earlier videos, you will see they were worst, but what does it matter, if there are people making fun of you, they are just giving boost to their own ego, if you go and speak English with a foreigner, they will never make fun of you, because for them it is not important whether you are right or wrong, what is important to them is, whether they are able to understand what you are trying to express.

Initially whatever we will try to do we will be wrong, don’t want to be right, this a big trap, even if you are wrong nobody is going to kill you, at max what can happen, somebody can make fun of you, so what is happening, they are smiling, so is it a problem or is it a good thing? Of course good thing, whether they are laughing on your joke or whether they are laughing on you how does it matter, they are smiling because of you and I think that’s the big thing. Just keep trying & trying. Remember “Practice makes perfect” At last, if you find this video useful then please share with your friends & loved ones and hit the like button below. 10 Ways to Motivate Yourself When Learning English

Want to speak real English from your first lesson? Sign up for your free lifetime account at EnglishClass101.com. Hi, everybody, and welcome back to Top Words. My name is Alisha, and today we’re going to talk about 10 ways to motivate yourself when learning English. Let’s go! The first way to motivate yourself is to imagine that one day you will live in the United States. So to do this, imagine what is your day going to be like when you live in the US, where will you go, who will you meet, where will you shop, and so on.

Imagine your day in the United States. Ok, the second way to motivate yourself when you’re studying English is to study other aspects of the culture, too, which makes it more rewarding to study English. Ok, so this means, of course, studying English as a language but if there’s a specific country that you’d like to visit or a specific part of that country’s culture, try to learn about that too. If you like music, if you like the food, if you like the history; try to find something about a specific country or a specific part of that country’s culture that you enjoy in addition to studying the language. Ok! Way number 3 to motivate yourself is finding funny words in English. Ok, so finding a word that sounds funny or a word that you enjoy using, or a phrase that you enjoy using can really increase your motivation for using that word and for interacting with people.

So if you can find those phrases that you think are funny or are fun, they can be really really helpful for you as you learn your language. The next way to motivate yourself is to make friends with people who speak English. So of course, if you don’t have any friends who are English speakers, especially native English speakers, it’s a really good idea to make some friends. This way you can practice with them, you can learn from them, and you can just see maybe what their life is like and how their life is different from yours. So this is a great way to practice, a great way to learn, and a great way to think more internationally as well. The next way to motivate yourself is watching youtube videos of other people who have successfully learned English. So you can listen to people what worked for them, how did they study, where did they go, what materials did they use, what did they find not helpful.

So you can try to find a strategy that works well for you through using resources like YouTube, for example. It’s a great way to find people that maybe match with what you need. Ok, the next way to motivate yourself is by watching English movies and TV shows and enjoying the feeling when you can understand a word or a sentence. Yeah, I do this too. When you enjoy something, when you find entertainment value in something, like music, movies, TV, and you there’s that moment when you pick up, or when you understand what your favorite character said, or you understand that like a key point in the story, it’s a really really good feeling.

It makes you want to continue watching, I think. So that’s a really really nice feeling, I think, and you can do that by enjoying media so it’s a fun way to learn and it’s a fun feeling to experience. Ok, the next way to motivate yourself is by reading English news articles, blogs, and magazines to get a feel for formal and casual language. So the style that we use here, like EnglishClass101 and on the videos on this channel, is quite casual most of the time, or at least in these videos it’s very casual, but the way that I speak in the way a newspaper is written, the way a magazine is written, the way a newscaster presents the information, these are all different ways of communicating.

We’re using the same language, yes, but there are different styles, so it’s important to try to understand those differences and to become familiar with them. So try to find a few different things that you can enjoy. The next way to motivate yourself is after dinner you write about your day in a journal in English. Ok, this is an interesting idea. So just take a few minutes after dinner or before you go to bed to write something in English about what you did that day, or maybe so you have a chance to talk about future tense, or to use the future tense, you can use you can talk about your upcoming plans or the things you’re going to do the next day. So you can talk about past tense, what you did that day, maybe present tense, how you’re feeling as you’re writing your journal for the day, and future tense to talk about your upcoming plan.

So journaling can be a really effective exercise for motivating you. Okay, the next way to motivate yourself is by practicing with flashcards of useful words and phrases for 15 minutes every day on the train. I actually do do this, I use, but I use an application to study in Japanese to study Kanji, and 15 minutes every day adds up over the course of a week, you can learn a lot of information in a short period of time. And if you live in the country where your target language is spoken, then you might even find the word you studied on the train, you see it, like, after you leave the train you might see that word later on in your day.

So you can immediately feel like an extra sense of motivation by knowing that this thing you’re studying is applicable, it’s something you can use right away, it’s a really cool feeling. So this is a tip, I honestly, I use this. Last, I make sure to thank anyone and everyone who corrects my English. Yeah, I think this is really important because people are really nice, they don’t want to correct you when you make a mistake; but sometimes, people do, they’re really polite about it, and they tell you the more, tell you a more natural way, or they give you a suggestion for how to improve your English, make sure you say thank you. Like, repeat after them and then say thank you. So that’s, you know, it’s motivation for them to tell you again in the future, to help you again in the future.

So make sure to say thank you to anyone who helps you with your English. So that’s the end! So those are 10 ways that you can motivate yourself when you learn English. If you have a different strategy for how you like to motivate yourself to learn English, please let us know in the comments. Please be sure also to like this video and subscribe to our channel if you haven’t already. Thanks very much for watching I hope this video motivated you to keep studying, we’ll see you again soon with more fun stuff, bye!.

Speak English Naturally – Learn To Think In English.

Learning to think in English will make you more confident speaking English because you’ll speak more naturally and fluently with less hesitation. I can already hear you saying “But Emma, I need to think in my native language to translate! It’s too hard, I don’t know enough vocabulary to do it!” But listen, that is the long, slow and painful road to English fluency.

When you do this, your English sounds unnatural because the sentence structure is different in your language and it probably takes you a long time to say what you need to say because you’re translating in your head as you speak. We’re going to learn a few strategies to help train your brain to think in English. So start with very simple vocabulary. When you’re at home, think about the English word for things that you see around you. Shoes, flowers, desk, door. When you’re on the train or you’re driving to work, look out the window and think of the English word for the things that you see. Dog, factory, busy, windy, people. In fact, we’re going to try it right now! So, I want you to close your eyes, take a deep breath.

Because when you open your eyes you’re going to look around the room in front of you and think in English – only in English – not in your native language. You’re going to think in English of the words for everything that you see around you. Okay, so take that deep breath again. And open your eyes and look around you. Thinking of the English words only. Great! Now, if that was easy, we can move on to the next level. If it was hard that’s okay too! But you’ll need to practise every day doing the same thing in different places – it will become easier.

You’re training yourself to think in English. So you can do it at home or at work, on the train or when you’re at the cafe waiting for a friend. Then you can move on to simple sentences. For example, your hair’s really long or what’s he eating for lunch? Or that chair looks really uncomfortable. So do the same thing now. I want you to look around the room and make three simple sentences about what you see. Remember, no translating! You’re not allowed to think in your native language at all. And if this is too difficult, go back to thinking of simple vocabulary words. Okay, so close your eyes, take a deep breath, go. Okay, if that was easy, you can move to the next level which is to plan your day in English – thinking in English. So when you wake up in the morning and you’re still lying in bed, think about everything that you need to do that day – in English.

After I eat breakfast I’ll walk to the bus stop and I’ll catch the bus to work. On the bus, I’m going to read my book. I’m meeting Matilda for lunch today and I think we’re going to get takeaway and eat it in the park. It’s going to be such a nice day. So when thinking in English sentences and planning your day with simple sentences becomes easy, move on to thinking in conversation. Now, this is great when you’re sunbaking on the beach or hiking up a mountain or you’re in the shower getting ready for your day and you have some time alone in your head. So there’s nothing to distract you! Now thinking in conversation is really great because you’re asking the questions then thinking of answers to those same questions and also ways to keep the conversation going, so it’s really great conversation practice.

Now, if talking to yourself in your head sounds strange or silly… well I guess it probably is! Get one of your friends to help. And no, I don’t mean ask one of your friends to have a shower with you, that would get maybe a little bit weird and awkward. You might not have the same relationship again after that. I just mean, imagine that they are part of the conversation in your head, so when you’re asking the questions, how would they answer? What would they think about the things you’re saying? As you’re walking down the street, in your head you could be saying “It’s so hot today, isn’t it?” “Yeah it is! I wish I brought my hat, that sun is scorching! It reminds me of a week that I spent in Dubai actually.

It was over 40 degrees Celsius!” “Hey are you sure that Sally’s meeting us here? We’ve been waiting for so long now!” Practising this skill and doing it regularly will help train your brain to think in English. I recommend that you find a time in your day where you always do this every day. So for example, every morning after you brush your teeth, spend five minutes thinking in conversation or planning your day.

Or it could be on your lunch break. Work on it every day and you will make it happen! You will train your brain to think in English so that when it comes to speaking in English, it flows naturally. Your words flow naturally because you’re not translating in your head. You’re thinking in English. English language: EASY ways to learn – sharing my secrets!

Hello my dear subscribers! Today I want to share my tips on learning English language I know many of you dream of having a great English language without accent and this was my dream for many years I struggled to learn things, to learn the accent. Today I want to share my most effective tips that I used to learn English language. Now the first thing You have to have a very specific goal like getting into a foreign university or getting a job with an English language employer but I know on different stages of our life we don’t have these specific goals The target is to make learning English your lifestyle. You can do it by doing many different things like the first thing you can do is super easy is just set your iPhone or android or whatever phone you’re using to English language So you’d see all of those English words every day during your life like send a message, watch a video everything should be in English Maybe you’d think you know all of those basic words but really you’d meet so many nuances you’d remember and it’ll stick to your memory and you’d be able to use them later.

The second thing you need to do is surround yourself with English I know this is very difficult. I’m from Russia and not many people speak English here. It’s not like in Finland In Finland everybody speaks perfect English. Finnish people are watching, how do you do it? That’s amazing! But in Russia not everyone speaks good English. There are some people but…

It was very difficult to surround myself with English language But now in the years of media and technology we have YouTube And it is the best thing you can do like switch on a YouTube blogger who speaks English and the best thing to do is maybe select a YouTube blogger who is coming from your country because he would still have a slight accent. I have slight Russian accent. It would be easier for you to understand him or her. It would also motivate you because you would see the person from the same background.

You’d see him speaking English language without an accent. I watch VitalyZDTv He’s from Russia but he films in English and probably you know him, he’s a prankster and he does a lot of pranks he’s amazing. If you’re from Russian speaking background, watch his video. Another thing you can do All of us have Internet and you can watch news on the Internet If you like American English, watch CNN. You can also read their articles It’s not necessary that you only watch the videos.

For British English watch BBC. And I know that some people say than news produced by their country may be biest like maybe there’s propaganda involved. This is a good motivation to watch news in English language you’d get a different view on what’s happening in your country and what’s happening in the world. For many countries this is a problem. So do that, just watch news in English. But make sure that you understand that CNN news are influenced by American culture. BBC is influenced by British culture. Having a video playing on the background for example, I’m watching English language YouTube vloggers when I’m washing up or cooking something. It’s not necessary that I listen to every single word they say but I have this English language background. It really helps. Another thing you can do. Listen to English language songs. This is the easiest part. All of us listen to, I don’t know who’s the most popular now? Justin Biber I know many of you hate him. Justin Biber, Britney Spears all of those names. Pick whoever you like There’s radio one in the United States. I love the music, I listen to it every time in the car and they have the best hits.

You can stream it online or you can download English language songs to your phone. Make sure you read the lyrics before you listrn to it. Listen to it for a couple of times. Read the lyrics and then go back to the song. You’ll be amazed how many thing you understand. When you first listen to the song if it’s a n English rap song, You’d hear you wouldn’t get what they say. But after you read the lyrics, those sounds would make sense. Would make more sense anyways. You’d get a couple of words. Please do that and if you want more details how to learn English using songs please use the link below to see how I do that and how best language schools over the world do that.

Also remember that we live in the digital age. There’re so many things you can do online. like the most basic thing Google translate When you’re translating words from English into your language. Please make sure you know how this word is pronounced in English because memory is not only our brain, memory is also our eyes, ears, senses. When you hear the word as well, you’d make greater progress remembering it. The second thing you can do when you’re googling a word try to google it in images there’s a special section in Google, called Images If you google for a word there you’d get pictures and icons of that word and that would help you remember the word.

I also use stickers like this is one of the best methods you can do place a sticker to different objects in your appratement like sofa lamp, bed. If you’re watching this video, you probably know all of these basic words But try your kitchen. like do you know what buckwheat is? oatmeal wholegrain bread All of those very specific things you’d need when you come to the States. or come to Great Britain you have to know those words. Use your kitchen as a place where you learn like I use containers for grains I just sign them with the words I need to know Another thing you can do our brain is good in remembering things in space You can also use the objects in your room for specific words and it’s not necessary to put a sticker with a word window on window You can put something like admission and then your brain would remember that on window we have something connected with a university. Admissions when you put this weird gear on your face. You use it to learn something. They put you in imaginary room where you can see the objects or words placed on different objects.

Use it in real life. Place diffrent words all over the place. There’re lots of apps you can use to learn English Duolinguo is one of the best which is basically for beginners There’s easy ten to learn just words There’re lots of youTube bloggers like me 🙂 If you like my videos or other youtube bloggers who speak English and teach you different sfuff.

When you download all the apps to your iPhone, make sure you have a screen for all of those apps So for example my first screen when I open my phone, I see this. I see all of the apps I use every day. My second screen is clear. I only have the apps I need to use. they’re connected with my work.

You can do the same with your English language apps. Place them on a separate screen, make sure it comes second and have no more than 6. When you’re waiting for somebody, pick up your phone and and try using some apps You’ll see your target, empty screen five or six apps for English and you’d basically use them to spend your time waiting. I get a lot of questions from people like what books do you recommend to read I’d say if your English is intermediate or pre-Intermediate try children books. I read Jacqueline Wilson the British author, she writes book for children age 12-14. It’s really easy to understand them. The plot is basic. She uses very easy words. Please check her. I leave a couple of books on Kindle. I’ll try and find for you. The second thing you can do is pick up a book written by a guy who speaks your language who comes from your culture.

Try to read his books in English. Translation from your own language would be simplier and you use concepts you’d understand. Maybe it’ll also work for you. The best way is to pick a book that captivates your attention the one you’d be reading. whatever happens. Like for me this book is Gone girl This is an absolutely amazing book I enjoyed reading it and and then watched a film. Watch a film first with English subtitles in English and then read a book. It’s amazing, you’ll like it. It’s a bestseller everybody in the world liked it you’d also like it. The most important thing comes last you can forget what I’ve said I’m just kidding. Right now will be the most important thing You have to talk to native speakers. Try to do it every day. At least for 5 minutes. I know an amazing company that does it My company linguatrip.com We help you connect with a person who wants to speak English he can be located anywhere in the world.

You need to do is just click a button You’d be instantly connected to that person and you’d be able to speak English to them and ask “how’s he doing today” “what’s he do for living?” “what does he do during summer holidays?” Ask him whatever you want. You can talk to him for 1 minute or you can talk for 30 minutes. It’s really up to you. Please try and do that. Let me know what you think. It’s a really great thing to do. Also you can hire a skype tutor who’s also a native speaker.

The difference between the person who wants to speak English and study with a native speaker I mean the teacher that the teacher would be explaing your mistakes and give you some grammar and vocabulary. The price would be higher but it’s good to have feedback. because when you’re just talking to a person They wouldn’t be correcting you the goal would be to make sure they understand you. Try and travel to English speaking countries try and spend your vacation in places where people speak English or speak English well like in Finland Amazing guys You can go there and they speak English. All of them. or Sweden Swedish people are good at languages. Great Britain, USA, Canada Australia, New Zealand whenever you want to go Malta Malta is a small European country where second native language is English. Try and go to Malta as well. The best thing to do is stay with a host. Stay in a host family You can book it by Airbnb or homestay.com or you can use linguatrip.com for booking language courses in country where language is spoken and also homestay we make sure hosts talk to you in English.

Lesson 1 – Speak English Clearly! The Imitation Technique

Hello! Welcome to the very first video training lesson for the imitation technique. Thank you so much for signing up! I know you are going to love this training. Now, imitating something is similar to copying something. Usually, imitating is copying actions or words so this technique is all about copying something that a native speaker is saying, exactly. It teaches you to listen to the sounds and patterns of English and trains you to make those same sounds yourself. You’re training your mouth with your ears. So you’re listening to the sounds and you’re not training your mouth with your eyes by reading and guessing the pronunciation of words, you are training your mouth with your ears.

By practising with this technique, you’ll reduce your accent and pronunciation problems more quickly and become a clearer and more confident English speaker. Now, there are three steps that you’ll need to remember when you’re using the imitation technique. First, you’ll need to listen to me and read the text at the same time. So when I talk on this video you’ll see the words come up at the bottom of the screen. In the text, the important stress has been marked so you’ll be able to hear the stresses in my expression and read them as well. Then, it will be your turn! So you’re going to hear me read each sentence again but there will be a pause after each one and this is where you’ll need to copy exactly what I’ve said. Listen for my pronunciation, the stress, the pause, the intonation and then you’ll need to copy it exactly.

You can do this step as many times as you need to before you move on to step number three. Then the bigger challenge is for you to shadow me, which is to copy everything that I’m saying again but this time you won’t have any text on the screen, you’re just listening to the words that I’m saying. Now it might be a little bit tricky, especially the first time, because you’ll be listening to me and speaking at the same time! So it might take you a few times to get comfortable doing it. And remember that you might not understand everything that’s being said as I’m saying it, but that’s not the point of this training. We’re not testing your understanding of English. We’re testing and practising your pronunciation and speaking skills. So if you don’t understand it, don’t worry! But do it again and again and again until the sounds that you are making sound very similar to the ones that I’m making in the video.

And that’s it! The imitation technique is simple yet so effective. If you practise this technique regularly, soon you’ll sound more natural, more confident and more relaxed when you’re speaking English. Let’s try it! I love to travel to different countries, I love meeting new people and tasting different foods (that’s my favorite part!) To date, I think I’ve visited about twenty-two different countries but there are so many more places on my list. Almost every person that I know, who has a decent income, does some sort of travel every year, usually overseas. to a different country. In my opinion, travelling overseas and to different countries makes us more accepting of each other’s differences and teaches us respect for different cultures, traditions and beliefs.

It also helps me to tell some pretty interesting stories about my adventures. I love talking to people about places they’ve visited and things that they’ve seen in the world,. I think it’s because I can easily relate to them and it’s easy for me to share my stories and experiences with them. Plus, I love getting recommendations about places to visit. It helps me to plan where my next holiday is going to be. Okay, now for step number two.

You’re going to imitate exactly what I say – the pronunciation, the stress, the pause. And there will be a pause after each sentence that will let you do that. Ready? I love to travel to different countries I love meeting new people and tasting different foods (that’s my favorite part!)
